"Oh shoot, shoot, shoot..." Cyd muttered as she tried plugging her microphone back into the computer. Usually the microphone was never unplugged - ever! But she had been mucking about in her seat, seeing how far she could lean back when.. Woosh! Over she had gone, pulling the microphone cable down with her. Not her best moment, Cyd had to admit. She had been about to log into The Game as well, but she wanted to set the microphone up first.
And finally! There it was! All plugged in and ready to go. With a satisifed and pleased smile on her face, she sat comfortavly on her chair. Dragging the mouse along the screen she double-clicked on her shortcut into the game and waited for the screen to appear. There.... Now all she had to do was log in and then...
And then she...
was...
Codex. The fearless Priestess! Well, practically fearless... There had been that one time with that rogue gargoyle thing, and then that time with kittens... But no, she wouldn't dwell on that.
Codex took in a deep, virtual breath, and flicked her hair back over her shoulder. Her eyes sweeped the market place, surveying the area, looking for anything that jumped out at her, or for any Guildies that were around. She was sure that by this point there would be a new quest up and she was just itching to go and do it! Even if it was something as silly as picking flowers, or whatever.
With a sigh, and a small pout emoticon at not seeing any of the Knights of Good just yet, or seeing anyone she knew, Codex made her way towards the nearest end of the market. She would start at that end and work her way along. She knew she had enough gold to buy something pretty - was there a new upgrade for her staff out yet? Hm... No, she didn't think so - after all, she had only recently gotten the one she wsa holding in her hand right now. A new one wouldn't be issued for a while. So, what else did she need?
Head tilted, she looked over the first stall, standing confidently and proud, not caring about those other avatars wandering past her and jostling her. Why should she, Codex care?
This first stall was selling protective items. Meaning, jewellery mainly, but there were a few common orbs as well. They were unexpensive and for a moment Codex was tempted to buy a particularly pretty and shiny orb that would ward off certain wraiths for a specific period of time, but she pushed that thought and offer back down and away. it would be useful, yes. But even though it was quite inexpensive it would take a chunk away from her spending gold! And something like that couldn't be done lightly, oh, no. Codex wanted her gold to be put to good use. It took time to accumulate the stuff, wasting it now would waste everything she had done!
So she shook her head and moved onto the next stall, wondering what she would find there.
